Services / Employment Preparation

Finding work in Australia can be difficult, even if you have substantial experience. That’s why it’s important to ensure you are approaching the task in the most efficient and professional manner.

After attending our information session, or an initial free consultation, we will discuss with you your needs and suggest the most suitable option from the Employment Preparation services packages – basic, standard, premium or networking.

Service upgrades are available by paying the difference between the service you have paid for and the service to which you wish to upgrade.

Needs Analysis

At this stage we will identify your specific barriers and how you need to go about removing them. Through an in-depth consultation* and review of your documents, we will provide a plan of action incorporating one of the OBP Australia service packages.

Prior to the needs analysis, you will need to supply us with the following documents:

  • Copy of your current resume
  • Copy of your visa, indicating your subclass number
  • Copy of your qualifications and any recognition of your qualifications from professional bodies (eg. Engineers Australia, ACS, etc.)

*Consultations can be conducted at the OBP Australia office in Melbourne or via telephone/Skype.

Resume

A resume is a dynamic document, requiring modifications for each application. Services that supply you with a static resume as a PDF are of limited value. We work with you to produce your base CV, from which we can show you how to adapt the content for each advertised position, while at the same time maintaining the integrity of the original formatting. This is a process that may involve several drafts, beginning with the OBP Australia model resume (specific to your industry) that we will provide to you.

Cover Letter & Key Selection Criteria (KSC)

We will provide you with model cover letters and KSC, but the real value in this service is in assisting you to developing a response to real key selection criteria and drafting cover letters for active advertised position. Be assured that the application documents you submit for a job are the best they can be.
